Look What’s New This Month in iStream!

Thoughtful Topics. Join this panel discussion of profitability and funding issues faced by postsecondary institutions and the shortcomings of current government funding. Find out the current trends for and 10 steps towards enhancing the fiscal outlook for two-year community colleges.

Partner Spotlight. SunGard Higher Education’s Advance suite opens the lines of communication between higher education institutions and their sponsoring communities. Find out what Advancement Solutions, SunGard’s prospect management system, has done for the Foundation at George Mason University.

TLT Webinars, Dangerous Discussions, and Flashlight. Along with the many TLT workshops available on iStream, free archives for iStream subscribers feature “Educational Uses for Google Docs and Spreadsheets,” which helps participants apply these tools to postsecondary teaching and learning.

NROC. The next NROC webinar, hosted by Elluminate, will be April 24 at 1 p.m. EST. “The Promise of Open Educational Resources: Hippocampus Reaches Out to the Underserved” will demonstrate how HippoCampus.org provides free educational resources to high school and college students through OERs.

Project Highlights. Successful fund-raising buys happiness and much more, when Johnson County Community College’s Foundation comes in 35 percent over its $15 million goal. The benefits, both anticipated and unforeseen, brought about by the Campaign for the Community are featured this month.

Ten Questions. The philanthropic efforts of Brenda Babitz have allowed community colleges to stand up and be recognized as fund worthy. Learn how your college can follow in the financial footsteps of four-year institutions.
