Look What’s Coming to iStream in October:
Focus on Multimedia Education and the Millennial Generation

Thoughtful Topics. Listen to a discussion about GIs, Baby Boomers, and Gen Xers throughout history and gain insights into the minds of Millennials: What shaped them, what do they value, and where are they headed?

TLT Webinars, Dangerous Discussions, and Flashlight. Learn how to collect evidence from your students to improve teaching and learning with technology in the workshop, “Asking the Right Questions,” October 9, 16, and 23. iStream subscribers have access to a limited number of free seats in the workshop.

NROC. iStream subscribers qualify for a limited number of free seats in NROC webinars. October webinars include “Hands on Science!” presented October 4 by Ron Krempasky of AtHomeScience, Inc., and “The Educational Power of the Web,” presented October 25 by Lisa Cheney-Steen of Colorado Community Colleges Online.

Project Highlights. At Central Piedmont Community College’s 2007 e-learning seminar, “Beyond Text: Using Multimedia to Reach and Teach,” faculty learned how to move their online courses to a 3-D virtual world. Read about this innovative project in this month’s highlight.

Ten Questions. Terri Manning’s dedication to institutional research led to the creation of the Central Piedmont Community College Center for Applied Research. Find out what she has to say about Millennial learning and information use and the modularization of higher education in October’s 10 Questions.
