League Services Offers Workshops for Leadership

League Services provides numerous professional development opportunities for community college administrators, faculty, and staff. The following offerings are a sample of the workshops and presentations focused on leadership.

The President as Lobbyist. In order to secure state support for at least part of operating budgets and funding for capital projects, it is necessary to have an effective lobbying strategy. Presidents play an important role in this lobbying effort. (More information.)

Effective Strategies for Passing Local Community College Tax Proposals. Passing local (property) tax proposals to support operating budgets is a daunting task considering the tax burden families, businesses, and individuals must pay annually. (More information.)

The Role of the President in Fundraising. An efficient and successful foundation office is essential for effective fundraising. However, the community college president must be involved in the fundraising process to assure its success. (More information.)

Leadership in Times of Change. Community colleges are constantly affected by changes in the external environment. Excellent leadership at all levels of the organization is necessary to face the challenges of change and take advantage of their opportunities. (More information.)

To have one of these workshops delivered on your campus, contact Ed Leach.
