Look What’s Coming to iStream in May!

Thoughtful Topics. In this keynote speech, Kati Haycock discusses the widening education gap for minority and low-income students in the United States. Listen to her ideas for strengthening high school curricula and assisting faculty to build a bridge to equitable education.

Project Highlights. San Diego Community College District offers an exceptional continuing education curriculum devoted to improving the quality of life for those affected by brain impairment. Read about the Acquired Brain Injury program’s creation, growth, and daily heroism in May’s Project Highlights.

Partners Spotlight. Continuing education at Amoco Fabric and Fibers starts with PLATO®. See how this onsite, e-learning opportunity enhanced employees’ math, work, and life skills, in May’s Partner Spotlight.

TLT Webinars, Dangerous Discussions, and Flashlight. TLT’s prerecorded Five-Minute Workshops combine media, modalities, resources, plans, and activites to support professional development, teaching, or learning. Five-minute workshops are scheduled for May 30, June 6, and June 13, 2007, 3 p.m. EST. In this age of too much to do and too little time, five-minute clips and five-minute workshops provide an attractive solution for exploring current options for teaching and learning.

Ten Questions. From Eagle Scouts and the Olympics to the military, this AAACE President carries an ever-burning torch for education. Read about hot topics in adult and continuing education today and learn what is different from yesterday this month when Grey Edwards answers Ten Questions.

Bringing Innovative Tools to Your Desktop: iStream and the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC). NROC and the League for Innovation have partnered to provide iStream subscribers front-row seats to an exciting and thought-provoking resource repository workshop. This workshop focusing on professional development opportunities and content resources available through this new partnership will run on May 16 at 11 a.m. PST and will be limited to 25 seats. Please register for the course by emailing Terri Rowenhorst (trowenhorst@montereyinstitute.org) before May 11.
