Walden University Offers $2 Million in Doctoral Scholarships

The Walden University Doctoral Studies Scholarship fund will award 200 scholarships of up to $10,000 each, which will be available to new students who meet financial need criteria, in increments of up to $2,000 per financial aid year. Walden University, with nearly 25 percent of its students enrolled in doctoral degree programs, has a strong history of postgraduate-level study in health and human services, psychology, public policy and administration, management, and education for working professionals. Professionals with doctorates, especially in these sectors, fill some of the most critical roles in the betterment of society. The Doctoral Studies Scholarship is aimed at easing the financial burden on doctoral students, who typically have large education debt burden.

Walden University, an accredited online institution with 36 years of experience providing graduate-level education, has launched a need-based scholarship program to support and promote doctoral study. Known as the Walden University Doctoral Studies Scholarship, the fund is available for new Ph.D. and Ed.D. students across the university and is designed to increase the number of practicing scholars who will produce research to solve problems in their professions and directly implement solutions to important societal issues.

Application Deadlines. The deadline to apply for scholarships is April 23, 2007, for the April 30, 2007, start date; May 28, 2007, for the June 4, 2007, start date; and June 18, 2007, for the June 25, 2007, start date.
