Capella to Award $60,000 in Scholarships

CapellaCapella University, an accredited university and a leader in learning online, announces the 2007 Higher Education Advancement in Learning Scholarship. Ten $6,000 scholarships will be awarded April 25, 2007. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2007.

The scholarship is an exclusive opportunity for community college alliance members and League Alliance member institution faculty and administrators seeking a doctoral degree. The scholarships are for new learners only. You can learn more about eligibility requirements and apply online by logging on to www.capella.edu/LFI and clicking on scholarships.

Capella University’s reputation for academic excellence is built on the quality of its faculty. All doctoral instructors hold a Ph.D., and all have real-world experience in higher education. Forty-two percent of Capella’s more than 16,000 learners are in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program.

“Capella University and its community college alliance members recognize that the adult learner is seeking a quality education experience delivered in a manner convenient to today’s fast-paced lifestyle,” said Edward Gould, faculty director of higher education and corporate programs in the online university’s School of Education. “Capella’s fully online, accredited programs and its seamless transfer to upper division and graduate level programs are designed for faculty, staff, and adult students from community colleges to accomplish their educational, career, and life goals.”

Capella University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, www.ncahigherlearningcommision.org.
