Monthly Periodicals Submission

The League maintains an open call for manuscripts for Leadership Abstracts, Learning Abstracts, and Innovation Showcase. These monthly publications highlight innovative practice in  community college teaching and learning, leadership, student services and support, workforce and economic development, community service, and research. Issues are published each month and featured in the League’s monthly newsletter, League Connections, and on the home page.

To submit a manuscript:

1. Review recent articles and author guidelines to determine which publication best fits your manuscript topic.
2. Complete the form below.
3. Upload your manuscript in MS Word format, according to the guidelines for your chosen publication.
4. Click the Submit button to send your submission to the League’s editorial staff.

FAQs   What is the deadline to submit a manuscript? Manuscripts for publication in Leadership Abstracts, Learning Abstracts, and Innovation Showcase are accepted throughout the year. What is the standard word count for a manuscript? Articles in Leadership Abstracts, Learning Abstracts, and Innovation Showcase are 1,500 to 2,000 words. Can the manuscript include pictures? Absolutely! Please embed (copy/paste/insert) them directly into the Word document. Can the author(s) include links to relevant information? Yes, whenever possible. For example, include a link to your college or program’s web page. What happens after the manuscript is submitted? Upon submission, you will receive email notification that we have received your manuscript. The League’s editorial staff will review your manuscript, and email you information about the approval process and next steps. The manuscript is time sensitive. Can a timeframe/month be requested? Yes. If you have a specific timeframe/month you would like to see your manuscript featured, make your request in the comments field. We will do our best to accommodate your request. Remind me again where this manuscript will be featured.
