Description: The
Chemical Dependency Program at Rio Salado College is a program
designed to train practitioners in the field of chemical dependency
counseling. The program’s focus is on offering education
to persons seeking to become a chemical dependency professional.
The program offers two levels of chemical dependency counseling
certificates as well as an Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
The two certificates in Chemical Dependency are composed of
a total of 17 courses for 39 semester hours of credit.

CMS/LMS/ Platform used for this program: |
Rio's
current system was built internally to meet the college’s
unique LMS needs. Rio is currently partnering with Microsoft
and Dell to assemble, using Microsoft and other third party
applications, the next generation eLearning (LMS) system. Phase
one of the new system should be released in July, 2004. |

The
final exam is the only proctored assessment. All other assignments
are submitted from the student directly to the mentor. |
