Description: This certificate program provides traditional and non-traditional responders with a better understanding of public health issues during community health emergencies, such as bio-terrorist attacks. Course titles include--What is Public Health?; The Traditional Incident Command System From a Public Health Perspective; Agents, Treatments and Protection for the Health Care Worker; and Public Health Emergency Planning. Students learn the role of public health, incident command systems, response to top biological agents (symptoms, transmission methods, decontamination requirements, protection measures, treatment protocols, and prophylaxis information) and managing community health responses. Each of the four courses is 16 instructional hours in length. |
