Description: This certificate will upgrade skills and knowledge in Corrections, including probation and parole. It is designed for those currently employed in the criminal justice field and for those who wish to develop skills necessary to work in entry-level positions in Corrections. Course objectives prepares graduates to: -Effectively work in the areas of detention, supervision, administration and rehabilitation -Supervise the treatment and custodial care of inmates -Guide and assist adult and juvenile inmates in adjusting to their new environment -Guide inmates on their preparation for and adjustment to community life -Interview inmates, complete social and criminal histories and recommend rehabilitation strategies

Program Title: Online Pedagogy: Creating a Successful Web-Enhanced Course

Description: An eight-week, non-credit course designed to provide those in instructional roles (teachers, trainers, and others) with the theory and skills needed to add asynchronous components to classroom-based courses. Emphasis will be placed on pedagogy appropriate to providing college level content, interaction and written assignments to adolescent and adult learners. Participants will learn how to add asynchronous components to their classroom-based course(s). Because this course is 100% asynchronous, the pedagogy used by the instructor will model the pedagogy being taught. Course objectives prepare graduates to teach courses partially or totally online.
