Description: The Purchasing and Supply Chain Management program is a unique and highly regarded program designed both for those entering the field and professionals seeking to upgrade their skills. The curriculum focuses on many aspects of purchasing including source selection, pricing theory, quality and quality assurance, logistics, supply chain management, specifications and standardization, purchase timing, value engineering, make-or-buy concepts and capital purchasing.
Students learn related business and accounting practices such as standard policies and operating procedures, negotiation techniques, planning, organizing, traffic concepts and inventory control theory. In addition, students gain an understanding of the legal aspects of purchasing and the Uniform Commercial Code.
