Can My College Join the Network?
Any two-year colleges will be welcomed into the network if the college completes the network application. By completing the application (a web-based “smart-form” application process) the college will describe its accomplishments and plans along with potential products that might aid other colleges.
What will we contribute to the Network?
Each college will determine what it is willing to share regarding what it has done in regional/local workforce and economic development. Because the Network is being created to facilitate the collection and dissemination, sharing, exchange of ideas, information, models, curricula and any/all other vital information among community colleges – almost anything will be welcomed as long as you believe that it has value and usefulness for other colleges. Areas of accomplishment that will be identified as “workforce and economic development” may include:
- Creating or joining a community or regional coalition of workforce development stakeholders, including the public workforce development system, who offer programs and initiatives to support local economic and workforce development.
- Offering unique “demand driven” training and/or services to students and employees.
- Understanding the labor market context and using labor market information to determine industry needs, and to determine the jobs that are high-growth, high- demand.
- Working collaboratively with business to develop workforce solutions and to know the skills and competencies needed by business.
- And more…
To join, complete the application.
