Message from CCTI Project Director, Larry Warford

The College and Career Transitions Initiative (CCTI) is proud to announce the establishment of the CCTI Network. The CCTI Network is now open to all community colleges in North America who are interested in

• helping students ease the transition from high school to college and careers,
• increasing the rate of completion and success for their students,
• building partnerships with high schools and businesses,
• reducing remediation for their incoming students,
• learning about and developing career pathways, and
• dual or concurrent enrollment.

CCTI was developed to enhance the role of the community college in easing student transitions, and improving academic performance between secondary and postsecondary education through partnerships with secondary schools and employers. This project has been challenging and exciting, and we are now ready to expand this network to other interested community colleges. We encourage you to join the CCTI Network as we work together to provide a forum for sharing experiences, ideas, and visionary thinking on this important journey.

Joining the CCTI Network will provide your college with many benefits.

• National recognition for your college as a leader in improving student transitions and the development of career pathways from secondary to postsecondary education
• Positioning of your college and partners for national initiatives and grants that require documented collaboration
• Receiving timely, strategic communications that are important to your college
• Leverage at the local level to position the community college as the convener of collaborative efforts for the CCTI initiative
• Ability to access and share all CCTI Network information and activities on the League website, www.league.org
• Ability to share your college’s work on the CCTI League website
• Ability to access assistance from other network participants
• Opportunity to present special sessions at national conferences that will provide networking opportunities
• Opportunity to participate in programs at state, regional, or national levels

CCTI is grant funded, and there is no cost to join the CCTI Network at this time. Should this change, colleges who sign up now will be given a chance to decide whether to continue their membership at that time. There may be fees for optional activities such as registration, consulting, or mentoring for those colleges choosing to participate in these activities. There is a requirement of a commitment by the CEO and college to provide necessary resources along with a willingness and ability to work toward the goals of CCTI.
