What is CCTI?
CCTI is an acronym for College and Career Transitions Initiative.

CCTI is referred to as a cooperative agreement. Is this the same as a grant?
A cooperative agreement provides for a continuing communication and collaboration between the funding agency, in this case the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE), and the League for Innovation and CCTI consortium, to make improvements as the work is being done.

What are the purposes of CCTI?
To contribute to strengthening the role of community/technical colleges throughout the United States in

  • easing student transitions between secondary and postsecondary education as well as transition to employment and
  • improving academic performance at both the secondary and postsecondary levels.

What uses can be made of funds at the site partnership level?
Funding is intended to help reimburse required and voluntary project costs to improve strategies to achieve the purposes of the cooperative agreement.

What is the duration of the funding for the project?
The duration of the project is up to 60 months; but funding beyond Year One is contingent on continuation of federal funds and project design.

What occupational areas are included in CCTI?
There are five occupational areas (not programs) in the first year. They are: Health Science; Information Technology; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; Education and Training; and Law, Public Safety and Security.
