Welcome to the 2009 CCTI Summit!
Over the past six years, the League for Innovation has worked with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education to administer a national College and Career Transitions Initiative (CCTI). This national demonstration project has had a major impact on enhancing the role of the community college to lead improvement of student transitions from high school to college and on to careers.
One of the major activities of CCTI has been the CCTI Summit, a national convening of community college personnel and their partners to learn more about the success of others in this important work. We are pleased to announce that, through the League’s National Center for College and Career Initiatives, the 2009 CCTI Summit will be held Sunday and Monday, March 15-16, 2009, as a part of the League’s Innovations 2009 conference in Reno.
Improved student transitions and success has obvious advantages to your students and also will pay significant dividends to your institution and your partners through reduced costs for remediation and added revenue due to enrollment and retention gains. The CCTI Summit will provide information on how your college can become a leader in this important movement that has been highlighted by the work of CCTI in four major areas:
-
Communication across systems
-
Collaboration with local, state and national partners
-
Curriculum changes that help students be successful
-
Counseling and Career Development that help students plan a path for their future
