Increasing Math Placement Scores and Success

The Math Start program requires that students who test two levels below college math complete at least the first developmental math course within their first three academic quarters at the college. A no-cost skills workshop helps students review and improve their math skills using a customized curriculum. On average, 9 out of 10 students who complete the workshop place at least one level higher in the developmental course sequence than their original placement, with one in four placing into college-level math.
