The goal of CCD's FastStart program is to develop and implement curriculum using an accelerated and intensive instructional approach to the delivery of developmental math, English, and reading. FastStart uses a holistic approach designed to support students through multiple semesters of developmental coursework. In addition to a comprehensive FastStart course, students participate in a learning community-one hour of study time per week with peers and the instructor, during which students participate in group activities in the classroom and instructors act as facilitators to foster a true community of learners to promote critical thinking and engagement.
