Quantway™ and Statway™ are co-developed instructional systems that foster deeper learning in math for students and accelerate their progress toward either transfer to a baccalaureate institution or workforce programs of study. Quantway is a one-semester developmental mathematics course focused on developing mathematical literacy and quantitative reasoning skills by applying mathematics to personally and professionally relevant contexts. Statway is a year-long college statistics pathway that takes students from developmental math through a college credit course and serves as a gateway to further academic study. These strategies have demonstrated through their initial use that it is possible to change students' beliefs about their ability to learn math and succeed in college. They have also initiated a change in faculty culture by creating communities of faculty working together to prioritize student success.
