Pathways Project
Basic Education Online

The League for Innovation in the Community College and Stevens Institute of Technology invited colleges to join Community College Pathways to Improved Teacher Preparation Through Technology (Pathways), a dynamic collaboration involving community colleges across the country that has proven to be a rewarding and worthwhile endeavor. Pathways provides faculty who teach mathematics, science, language arts, and educational technology to preservice teachers with online and face-to-face instruction for using internet-based resources designed to improve student engagement, while also modeling best practices. Pathways will also create an online library of technology-based learning objects to promote constructivist learning in community colleges. More information about the U.S. Department of Education-sponsored Pathways Project can be found at http://www.stevens.edu/ciese/pathways.

We are pleased to announce that 18 colleges have been chosen to participate in the next Pathways cohort. Each of the 18 institutions selected articulated a strong understanding of Pathways goals, including an institutional focus on preservice teacher education, modeling effective pedagogy for preservice teachers, and supporting faculty in the effective use of technology in their own teaching.
