Abstract: New and improved technology offers unique
opportunities to teach and assess students using methods that are easy, fun, and
self-motivating. Presenters will share their success in using this
technology (laptop computers and digital cameras) in a cross-disciplinary
Outdoor Education course. Participants will complete an assigned project
by construction a World Wide Web Page - in about one hour - complete with
digital images.
The methods and processes presented for teaching, learning, and assessment are
transferable to virtually any discipline. In addition to elevated
cognitive growth, this teaching and learning style encourages Outdoor
activities, and promotes enthusiasm, collaborative learning, peer tutoring, and
positive competition.
