. What meals are provided during the institute? .
We will provide participants with a continental breakfast each day, one lunch and Thursday evening a Graduation Dinner. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel; you can view the wide selection of choices online.
. What is the closest airport and is transportation provided? .
The most convenient airport is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which is approximately four miles from the Tempe Mission Palms. There is shuttle service provided by the hotel to and from the airport. Details will be provided in your information packet.
. Will I need my laptop for Institute activities? .

There will be no need for laptops for any activities during the institute; however, you are welcome to bring one for personal use.

The Tempe Mission Palms provides high-speed internet access in each of the guest rooms. The hotel also offers a business center with two computers for guest use available on a first-come first-serve basis.  The cost of internet access in the business center is $3.00 for five minutes or $10.00 for 30 minutes. The business center hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

. What is the expected attire at the Institute? .
. Business casual. Please note that average temperatures in December range from lows of 40 degrees Fahrenheit/4 Celsius to highs of 65 degrees Fahrenheit/19 Celsius. .
. What type of schedule can I expect? .
. A detailed agenda will be provided. Please be aware that there is limited free time for participants. You can anticipate your days starting at approximately 8:00 am and completed by 8:30 pm daily. We recommend that family and colleagues are advised in advance of the intensive schedule. .
. As a participant, can I arrive a few days early or stay a few days later to enjoy the "Valley of the Sun"? .

Yes, we have made arrangements with the Tempe Mission Palms to extend the group rate three days before and after the Institute, based on availability.

Some of the activities that will be taking place during your stay include the Tempe Festival of Arts, which runs December 3 through 5 (a good time to get some of your last-minute Christmas shopping done); the APS Fantasy of Lights display, which runs November 27 through January 4; and the Tempe Snow Day and Holiday Boat Parade.
