Keynote address at Innovations Conference
PHOENIX, AZ
- January 28, 2002The League for Innovation in the
Community College announced today that Senator Edward Kennedy is
expected to provide the keynote address at the League's 2002 Innovations
Conference. Kennedy will discuss the role of community colleges
in the United States, and the impact of current issues on community
college's role in education. Carol D'Amico, Assistant Secretary,
Office of Vocational & Adult Education, US Department of Education,
will introduce Kennedy at the conference. Senator Kennedy joins
fellow keynote speakers Tina Sung, President and CEO of the American
Society for Training and Development; Hillary Pennington, Vice Chairman
and CEO, Jobs for the Future; Amado Peña, Southwestern Artist
and Educator; and Mark D. Milliron, President and CEO, League for
Innovation in the Community College.
The Innovations Conference
is dedicated to improving student and organizational learning through
innovation, experimentation, and institutional transformation. Attended
by community college educators from around the world, Innovations
attendees come together to exchange ideas, highlight successes and
stumbling blocks, and look to the future. In addition to educational
and informational sessions, forums, and roundtables, attendees will
also attend exhibits of vendor solutions and demonstrations.

includes conference tracks focusing on learning and teaching, leadership
and organization, workforce preparation and development, student

Hill Community College, the 2002 Innovations Conference will be
held March 17 - 20, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.
