PHOENIX, AZ - January 28, 2002—The League for Innovation in the Community College announced today that Senator Edward Kennedy is expected to provide the keynote address at the League's 2002 Innovations Conference. Kennedy will discuss the role of community colleges in the United States, and the impact of current issues on community college's role in education. Carol D'Amico, Assistant Secretary, Office of Vocational & Adult Education, US Department of Education, will introduce Kennedy at the conference. "Attendees work together to improve student and organizational learning by exploring innovations across the community college" explains Gerardo de los Santos, Vice President, League for Innovation. "This includes conference tracks focusing on learning and teaching, leadership and organization, workforce preparation and development, student services and activities, basic skills and developmental education, and resource development and foundation management."
