Faculty, Mathematics

Statement:  My inspiration comes from my students and the growth that I see in them as they learn. As a teacher of mathematics, it is quite normal that on the first day of class, I find out that over half of the students have negative attitudes toward math and/or have struggled with it in the past. I love being able to change those negative attitudes in the positive direction, while teaching, explain, and working with students as they learn and sometime struggle through the content. It is very rewarding to see how far students have come by the end of the semester as they studied the subject that they feared on the first day. Whilst teaching the mathematics, I feel that I am also teaching students lifelong skills that will allow them to persevere through many of the challenges that they will face in this global society.
