Malcolm Sadler Professor, Geology San Jacinto College - Central Campus
It is always rewarding to have students become excited about geology as I get in teaching it. To teach about one's passion and work is always the endeavor of a good mentor. Developing hands-on activities and other interactive methods is one thing, but to see them in action and to understand that my students are really grasping concepts that might be considered "hum-drum" to teach using Powerpoints can only be described as invigorating and highly rewarding. I always want to make sure that the concepts that I am teaching in my classes are fun, enjoyable, and come with a sense of purpose and motivation. These are the things that really make my teaching day a positive and uplifting one.
