Statement:	I have taught mathematics for twenty years. In the classroom I try to create a community of learners who understand that they are accountable to the classroom community, to me, and primarily to themselves. Early in the semester I attempt to establish a routine so they know my expectations of them. Then I "pepper" the weeks with guided group activities that illuminates the material and establishes a camaraderie. I wish for my students to become mature adults who understand that hard work is its own reward.
