Statement:	I am inspired to engage, educate, and empower the next generation of mathematicians, engineers and scientists. In the San Diego City College MESA Program, we have developed an explicit STEM culture of success, with a language of success, for empowering students. Our MESA students are leaders: they own the culture, and they take it wherever they go to create their own success. The success of our students is the legacy of our MESA Program and my reward. Their achievements prove that MESA works!
