Statement:	I am lucky enough to be a teacher of biology during one if the most interesting periods in the history of that science. The intersection of the growth of molecular biology and information technology have led to a near revolution in modern biology as bioinformatics allows scientists to address questions of evolution, physiology, ecology, medicine, agriculture and more. It is an exciting as well as overwhelming task to try to keep up with the field let alone find ways to convey that information to beginning students. Hopefully, the joy and pleasure of learning is contagious.
