The Democracy Commitment
The formal launch of The Democracy Commitment will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the offices of The New York Times, 620 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY. Presidents of signatory community colleges are invited to attend the no-host lunch and working meeting at 1:00 p.m., the signing ceremony at 4:00 p.m., and a reception following the ceremony. The Democracy Commitment is a national initiative with a goal of making sure that every graduate of an American community college-whether earning a degree, certificate, or university transfer-has had an education in democracy.
