Terry O’Banion to Open 2012 Learning College Summit
Internationally renowned thought leader Terry O’Banion will kick off the League’s Learning College Summit on Sunday, June 10, which this year is focused on Learning as a Key for Student Success and Completion. The Summit continues Monday, June 11, through Wednesday, June 13, with exploration of five topics in the context of student success and completion: Organizational Culture; Student Engagement; Quality, Inquiry, and Accountability; Learning Outcomes and Assessment; and Learning Environments.
Hosted by Maricopa Community Colleges, the League’s Learning College Summit will be held at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona. The deadline for receiving the discounted early registration rate is May 12.
O’Banion, author of A Learning College for the 21st Century and numerous articles and monographs on learning and student success, uses a student and institutional pathway approach to explore an institution’s strong focus on learning as a key to student success and completion.
