AAUW Research on STEM Education for Women
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is conducting a research project to examine best practices in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for women in community colleges. AAUW will analyze existing research literature on women in community colleges in STEM and produce case studies for 5-7 programs that have been successful in recruiting, retaining, and helping women complete STEM programs in community colleges. The case studies will highlight institutional factors (program practices in outreach, recruitment, and retention, for instance) that contribute to female students’ success. AAUW is interested in terminal and transfer programs in academic and vocational fields and invites submissions of exemplar programs. Please provide a contact person for each program suggested and submit your exemplar programs no later than February 28, 2011, to research-aauw@aauw.org.
