After a thorough, inclusive process, a tobacco-free policy has been instated at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Students and employees collaborated to create a healthier, cleaner learning environment, and they have received positive feedback from both nonsmokers and smokers alike.

Creating Significant Deep Learning Experiences
The Cross Papers, Number 14, Creating Significant Deep Learning Experiences, was launched at the League’s Innovations conference in San Diego, California, on Sunday, February 27, 2011. In the monograph, Beth A. M. Dailey challenges faculty to incorporate more activities and opportunities for deep learning in the student experience, and she provides dozens of techniques for facilitating deep learning.
