The Children’s Garden at JCCC
On a spring day, young children gingerly tasted peas from the pods they snapped fresh off the vine in a garden they cultivated themselves. Johnson County Community College is teaching children to harvest healthy attitudes toward food choices and is using the garden to connect JCCC students from multiple disciplines.

Dateline: STEMtech
More than 1,450 community college educators were joined by their K-12 counterparts at the first STEMtech Conference held in Orlando this week. Ed Begley, Jr., kicked off the gathering on Sunday afternoon with an entertaining and thoughtful telling of his own story and the important role of STEM in living green. Sustainability was only one of many STEM-related topics on tap at STEMtech.
