League for Innovation Announces New STEMtech Conference for Fall 2010

October 10, 2009, Detroit, Michigan. During the opening plenary session of the League for Innovation in the Community College’s 25th annual Conference on Information Technology (CIT), League President and CEO Gerardo E. de los Santos announced the transition of CIT into a new conference envisioned as an interactive learning experience with a strong focus on (a) science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines in general education and workforce training, and (b) uses of technology across the institution.

Five-Star Hospitality Careers Begin at South Seattle Community College

The inaugural graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Hospitality Management program who were awarded their degrees in June 2009 are future hospitality industry leaders. Their 21st century skill set includes knowledge and hands-on experience in marketing, human resources, management, and technical applications in all facets of the hospitality industry.
