Rich Cummins, president of Columbia Basin College, joined CBC as a member of the English faculty in 1990. As a member of the administrative team since 1996, he has worked as the distance learning director, technology dean, and vice president for instruction. He was also the president of the Columbia Basin Advanced Technology Center, an education-industry alliance dedicated to the economic development of the information technology business sector in southeastern Washington.
Cummins is a member of numerous community boards in Tri-Cities, Washington, including the Pasco Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Cities Economic Development Council, Tri-Cities Visitor & Convention Bureau, and HAPO Community Credit Union.
Cummins holds a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, an MFA from the University of Arizona, and a Ph.D. from Gonzaga University. He lives in Pasco, Washington, with his wife and their two children.
