The League for Innovation thanks you for agreeing to be a presenter at the 2011 STEMtech conference. Your participation in this year’s conference provides other participants with the opportunity to discuss best practices involving the STEM disciplines - science, technology, engineering, mathematics – and explore the intelligent application of information technology in community and technical colleges.
The League for Innovation reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal. Reasons for rejection include, but are not limited to, topics not appropriate for the conference’s theme, insufficient space on the program, and failure to register for the conference.
If your proposal is accepted and you agree to present it, you must register for the conference by Friday, September 9, 2011 to ensure your name appears in the Conference Program.

Registration Details
Every presenter is required to register and pay the conference fee. Please register on or before September 9, 2011 in order to receive the Early Registration Discount. A $50 discount is available to participants from League Alliance institutions.
Once presenters have registered, an invoice/confirmation will be provided. If an invoice/confirmation is not received, please email Judy Greenfield, or call (480) 705-8200, x200. Neither honoraria nor expenses will be provided to session presenters.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that there may be extenuating circumstances that preclude participation. Should this occur, we appreciate your help in minimizing the impact of such changes. If you find that you are unable to attend the conference, please email LaRita Phillips as soon as possible. In the message, include your name, the title of your presentation, and the reason you are canceling.
Please note that you are responsible for payment if you do not cancel and do not attend. Refunds minus a $50 cancellation fee will be issued after the conference for cancellations received in writing by September 9, 2011. No refunds will be issued after September 9, 2011, but can be applied toward a future conference or Summit. Participant substitutions can be made at any time.
Hotel and Travel
Special conference hotel and travel rates have been contracted for the 2011 STEMtech conference. Detailed rate and reservation information is currently available. It is strongly recommended that you make your hotel room reservation early in order to assure that you secure a room in the conference's discounted block of rooms. Please note: The League for Innovation has arranged for a discounted conference rate at Indianapolis’ newest hotel. Making reservations outside of the room block through third parties, meeting planners, housing bureaus, or online tools impacts the League for Innovation’s ability to meet its obligations and control attendee registration costs. It also places the League for Innovation in a weaker position to contract for future destinations that will best meet the needs of our members. Please make your reservations directly with the JW Marriott Indianapolis at (800) 228-9290 using “League for Innovation.”
Conference Schedule
The 2011 STEMtech conference will take place over 3.5 days starting 8:00 a.m. Sunday, October 2 and ending at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5. The Conference at a Glance provides a “big picture” view of all activities taking place at the conference.
Video Streaming Sessions
Certain sessions may be selected to be video streamed and recorded for future delivery on the League for Innovation’s iStream website. If a session is selected, all session presenters will be notified and asked for their permission to video stream and record their session. No session will be video streamed and recorded without written permission from all presenters involved in that session.
Session Formats
Session formats include Concurrent Sessions, Roundtable Discussions, and Poster Sessions. Each session format is described in detail at Session Format Descriptions.
Presentations Posted on the Web
Presentations will be posted on the League for Innovation’s website after the conference for presenters who provide their files. This is entirely optional. Presenters who want their files posted online should provide them to the Speaker Support Office upon arriving onsite or send them to LaRita Phillips at phillips@league.org after the conference (include session title, presenter name(s), and day/time of the presentation). Files will not be edited or changed and will be posted exactly as they are received.
