Do I need to register for the conference?
Once a proposal has been accepted and a speaker agreement form has been signed, all presenters are required to register and pay the conference registration fee. Neither honoraria nor expenses are paid to presenters.
We understand that there may be extenuating circumstances that preclude participation. Should this occur, we appreciate your help in minimizing the impact of such changes. If you find that you are unable to attend the conference, please contact Wendy Neil at firstname.lastname@example.org or (480) 705-8200, ext. 234 as soon as possible. In the message, include your name, the title of your presentation, and the reason you are canceling.
Please note that you are responsible for payment if you do not cancel and do not attend. Refunds minus a $50 cancellation fee will be issued after the conference for cancellations received in writing by October 1, 2010. No refunds will be issued after October 1, 2010, but can be applied toward a future conference or Summit. Participant substitutions can be made at any time.

How do I let someone know details for my presentation have changed?

How will the meeting room be set up for my presentation?
Concurrent Sessions are set theater style with a head table and chairs at the front of the room and are intended for an audience of approximately 50-100 people. Poster Session presentations take the form of an exhibit and are delivered primarily through the use of graphs, diagrams, pictures, data, and narrative text on bulletin boards. Conference participants are free to move from one display to another. Roundtable Discussions are designed for less than 12 participants, but participation can exceed 20 or more individuals. Numerous Roundtable Discussions take place simultaneously in the same ballroom. Visit Session Format Descriptions for additional information.
Concurrent sessions are supported with a high-speed internet connection, video data projector, microphone, speakers, and screen.
Please note that neither electricity nor an internet connection will be available in the Poster Session area. Poster Sessions cannot accommodate equipment other than a presenter-provided battery-operated laptop computer.

Presenters are responsible for ensuring that any presenter-provided equipment connects and functions with the equipment provided by the conference organizers. Presenters assume full responsibility for the security and operation of their personal equipment. The Technical/AV Support Team cannot provide specialized cabling, drivers, software, connectors, or other out of the ordinary items. Can I schedule a rehearsal prior to my session?
Presenters will not have the opportunity to schedule an onsite rehearsal. Rehearse your presentation in advance of arriving onsite. A dry run of your presentation to knowledgeable individuals is the most successful method of preparation.
Who will attend the 2010 STEMtech?
Faculty, staff, administrators, and trustees interested in discussing best practices involving the STEM disciplines - science, technology, engineering, mathematics – and exploring the intelligent application of information technology in community and technical colleges.
How many participants will attend my session?
How many participants attend any particular session depends largely on the interest in that particular session, the presenter's name recognition, and how many and what other sessions are available during the same timeslot. Consequently, it is impossible to predict how many participants will attend any session since they are free to choose which sessions they will attend. Concurrent Sessions are intended for an audience of 50 to 75 people, but the actual number of participants can range from under 5 to over 75. Roundtable Discussions are aimed at audiences of 10 to 12, but in actuality can range from 2 to over 20. Traffic will vary during Poster Session since participants are free to move from one presentation to another.

Helpful tips to assist you in preparing and delivering an effective presentation can be found at Presentation Tips.
- Pick up your registration materials at the conference’s registration desk. Members of the Registration Support Team will provide you with your registration packet and the location of the Speaker Support Office.
- Stop by the Speaker Support Office to confirm that your audiovisual requests and session time, date, and location are correct.
- Meet in advance of your presentation with your co-presenters to discuss logistics such as introductions, speaking order, and allotted time for question and answers.
- Visit the room in which your presentation will be held prior to the session.
What should I do if I have a problem
during my presentation?
If you experience AV or other difficulties during your presentation, contact a member of the Technical/AV or Speaker Support Teams who will be stationed near each presentation room.
Will my session be evaluated?
The online evaluations completed by participants for each session will be available for presenter review after the conference. You are encouraged to review the session evaluation responses at your earliest convenience. Online evaluation data will be available for a short period after the conference.
