HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The “cut-off date” for accepting reservations into the discounted room block has been extended until Thursday, September 22, 2011.
The League for Innovation has arranged for a discounted conference rate at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Indianapolis’ newest hotel. Making reservations outside of the room block through third parties, meeting planners, housing bureaus, or online tools impacts the League for Innovation’s ability to meet its obligations and control attendee registration costs. It also places the League for Innovation in a weaker position to contract for future destinations that will best meet the needs of our members. Opened February, 2011, the JW Marriott Indianapolis is the largest in the chain. The newly constructed downtown JW Marriott Indianapolis hotel is steps from White River State Park, the Indianapolis Zoo, and many museums. The JW Marriott Indianapolis is convenient to the State Capitol, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Conseco Fieldhouse, and is in the heart of downtown, world-class shopping, and exquisite dining options.
The JW Marriott Indianapolis’ 34-story glass tower stands at 375 feet tall with 1,005 breathtaking rooms. Room features include signature Revive® bedding, LG® plasma screen televisions and a plug-in panel designed to reduce clutter and streamline multitasking possibilities. Hotel amenities include pool and exercise facilities, fine Italian dining with a unique “wine cube” in Osteria Pronto, and High Velocity sports bar.
CUT-OFF DATE
The “cut-off date” for accepting reservations into this room block is Thursday, September 22, 2011. Reservation requests received after 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on the cut-off date will be accepted at the hotel’s prevailing rate based on availability. The hotel will allow name changes without penalty.
RATE
Single/Double: $175. This special rate will be offered three (3) days prior and three (3) days after the meeting dates of October 2 – October 5, subject to availability of rooms at the time of reservation. There are a limited number of guestrooms available at the discounted conference rate. Be sure to book your hotel reservation by Thursday, September 22, 2011. After this date the conference rate may no longer be available.
2011 STEMtech conference participants who make their hotel reservations using the link are eligible to win a complimentary guest room during their conference stay. One lucky winner will be announced during the 4:30 PM Opening General Session, Sunday, October 2.
STATE AND LOCAL TAXES
The room rate is quoted exclusive of applicable state and local taxes (currently 16%) in effect at the time of check in
ROOM DEPOSIT
All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.
EARLY DEPARTURE FEE
All guests will be required to initial departure date upon check in. Early departures will be subject to a $75.00 fee, except in the case of a special emergency involving the attendee or the attendee’s family.
WARNING
Please be warned that if you plan on attending the 2011 STEMtech conference, DO NOT BOOK A HOTEL ROOM when contacted by other companies such as Convention Expo Travel or Convention Housing Services. These companies are contacting conference participants directly and advising that they officially represent the conference. They have done this for other events and attendees have found they are not at the headquarters hotel or they do not have a reservation even though they gave the company credit card information. These companies are in no way affiliated with the 2011 STEMtech or the League for Innovation. They are NOT the official travel agent for the event. SHARED RIDE VAN SERVICE
The JW Marriott does not provide shuttle service, and the estimated taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is $35.00 one way. The most economical way to get from the airport to the JW Marriott is the Green Line Shuttle that runs every 20 minutes from 5:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily from ground transportation. The Green Line Shuttle costs $7.00 one way with an estimated 15-minute travel time. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted. Exact fare is required for customers paying in cash.
