Constance Carroll
Constance Carroll has served as chancellor of the San Diego Community College District, California, since July 2004.
Previously, Dr. Carroll served in presidential roles at Mesa College of the San Diego Community College District, Saddleback College of the South Orange County Community College District, and Indian Valley College.
Dr. Carroll received a B.A. in humanities from Duquesne University. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in the classics. She studied at Knubly University in Greece and also attended the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.
Dr. Carroll has served as a member of the American Association of Community Colleges Board of Directors, Chair of the AACC Commission on New Technologies, the AACC Commission on International and Intercultural Services, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, and the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) Commission on Recognition and Committee on Transfer and the Public Interest. She was Founding Chair of the Community College Leadership Development Initiatives and Foundation and has been a member since 1999. In 2007, she received the Association of Community College Trustees’ CEO Award.
