Make Your Move

"The institute has rejuvenated me and reminded me that I do have much to add to our academy. In addition, I am reminded about what to focus on as a leader and certainly in the interview process. Finally, the professional relationships born out of this experience are invaluable."

Suzanne L. Miles, Ph.D., Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor for the College and President of the Downtown Campus, Pima Community College

"ELI has given me an opportunity to take stock of what I know and how ready I am for a presidency, then taking this insight to develop a professional development plan to prepare me for my first presidency."

Juan Avalos, Vice President for Student Services, Saddleback College
ELI Class of 2011

"The League for Innovation's Executive Leadership Institute program exceeded my expectations at all levels with the high-quality faculty and the individualized attention to each program participant throughout the entire week. ELI was my first exposure to the programming offered by the League and I was extremely impressed. The League’s team delivered on every learning objective and program detail. I will recommend this program and my world-class experience to colleagues and friends."

Mark Polatajko, Vice President, Administration and Finance, Cuyahoga Community College

"This is the best leadership development program that I've ever experienced. It has been a privilege to be part of the Class of 2006. The insight and knowledge learned from the superb faculty and fellow participants have benefitted career advancement tremendously. Without any doubt, participation in ELI is an invaluable investment any community college leader can make in his or her professional career."

Shouan Pan, President, Mesa Community College
ELI Class of 2006

The Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) provides the opportunity for potential community college presidents, or those in transition, to analyze their abilities, reflect on their interests, refine their skills, and engage in leadership discussions with an unparalleled faculty of community college leaders.

Since 1988, almost 700 participants have graduated from ELI, the first and most successful leadership education program of its kind. Forty-three percent of ELI graduates and as many as seventy percent of some graduating classes have accepted presidential appointments.
